During its 126th year as a professional association, the National Association of Power Engineers will bring its national convention to Philadelphia in July of 2008. Tracing its roots back to 1882 to a group founded by Henry Cozens, Chief Engineer of the courthouse of Providence, R.I., NAPE’s primary focus is the education of engineers and securing the enactment of engineer license laws to prevent the destruction of life and property in the generation and transmission of power resources.
With Chapter located throughout the United States, NAPE’s educational programs and licensing initiatives help to ensure public safety and raise the proficiency levels of thousands of engineers. The recently, re-born Philadelphia Chapter of NAPE sponsors monthly educational forums, in Havertown, on the second Tuesday evening of each month.
This year marks the second time that NAPE has held the national convention in “The City of Brotherly Love”; the first time being in 1906. The meeting will feature two days of educational opportunities which will be open to public participation.
For more information, contact Mark McGann, National Secretary, at 610-449-9800 extension 301, Visit NAPE on the WWW at powerengineers.com.

Ours is not that kind of convention. We've had one in Pittsburgh and one in Baltimore so I doubt that Philly will be any time soon.
We who work in the Philly area can always have our own mini-convention. I vote for Club Risque.

Thems people in Philly is crazy. They built this brand new building down there and put this old cracked bell in it. You would think they would have sprung for a new bell at the same time.
Also they route for the Eagles. Poor babies.

I'd assume there are since Philly has a huge convention center. But I've never heard of one.In Jan. 97, they had the International Air Conditioning Heating Refrigerating Exposition at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philly sponsored by ASHRAE & ARI. That's the last one I remember.
