Is it my imagination, or is Tridium a little slow when it comes to getting back to you with license numbers after you load AX?

Yes.

I don't believe the server automatically sends you something as I always get an email from axlicensing at tridium dot com, but it is generally signed by someone.

when i am commisioning a jace, i ensure i have internet access on my laptop and the license updates itself through the tridium license server. it just takes a minute. not sure how it works, but it works.

No, this is specific to when I have loaded a copy of Workbench on a new laptop. Nothing to do with a JACE.

Depends on the vendor, but after you send your WIN ID info, generally its the same day or next (Business) at the latest. Then it will license itself when you boot it the next time with Internet access.

Okay,

so I think you are conforming my suspicions. After you load Workbench on a new machine, open it and then fill in the info for the license, someone manually checks the information goes and gets the license and then emails it to you.

They will email you saying it is ready on the license server.

When I install WB on a new PC, it directs me to a webpage where I fill in my info, etc... Within 10 seconds I have a lic. Not sure why yours would be any different. This is the whole point, Tridium obviously does not want to babysit every single lic file, which is why its automated.

For a new PC/install Code is correct. If you are transfering from a existing PC to new PC it takes some manual input at the vendor/tridium level.

The license portal should give you a license almost right away. they are slow sometimes, but you need to get your distributer to push the issue your you.

One on the things in the soon to be released 3.3 build, will automate the license portal. currently, there is one two guys & Tiidium sending out licensing, and thats for all the partners, not just Vykon. And you thought you were busy :-)
