I have a organized tool bag, if a spot is open, I know I'm not leaving until it's filled once again :) Now pocket thermometers is a different story :(

I will lose a tool once in awile only to find it after I buy a new one to
replace it.

if you followed me around you would never have to buy another tool.
thats why i buy cheap tools now. i lose them before i break them.

i must have 20 6-way screwdrivers without the bits.

It happened a few (too many) times when I first started out. Lately never. The difference is not rushing and not wanting that feeling of losing something that you need, like, and will cost your hard earned money to replace.

I found that is the best way to TRY and keep up with stuff. I've had "helpers" that want to put something back anywhere they want, and then I can't find it until after I replace it. Now they know in no uncertain terms to keep their hands out unless I ask them to get something.

I wonder how many of you are made to work with so-called helpers, that A; have no tools, and B; have no clue, and C; seem like they are there because their Mom told them to get out of bed and get a job...!

Or do I just seem to get them all.........

Same here, when I was in a truck, never left the call until I looked in my bag and made sure that all the spots were filled back up, takes seconds.

I lost a nice 1/4 drive locking extension with a 5/16 flex socket on it. I'm sure it's next to an air handler in some ceiling. I'm hoping to find it this year, lol!

I'm the guy who usually finds other peoples faves, but I have lost a couple over the years.... Just found one of my own the other day... a mini pocket screwdriver that flips around from straight to philips... Bin a year since I was at that job.

I leave far too many tools t customer's houses. I found my brand new Klein lineman's pliers after they spent 3 years in a condenser.

I want to know what are the customers doing with my tools? Why don't they call us to tell me I left something. If they could use them, they wouldn't call us.

LOL!! Found a flashlight with our lead mechanic's name on it last year in a ceiling. It didn't work. I opened it and it had those old blue & yellow Ray-O-Vac batteries in it. How old is that ?:D Then I found a utility knife with a guys name on it and it was dated 1984. Called him on the radio and told him I found his knife. He said " I didn't lose a knife" and I said "Yes you did, 14 years ago!"
