Weird question

Guys,

I've got a weird one for you guys. I've got a client who wants to put the outside piece of a Celiera Mini Split (68GWX1B) in an attic. I know the unit will be much less efficient but they are in a very bad neighborhood and want to keep it from getting stolen. What do you guys think?

Tell them no because you will not want to be responsible for it. You could mount it on the outside high enough that a ladder would be needed to service or steal it.

I think placing it in the attic would place way too high of an additional load on the unit... I would say high sidewall or possibly roof??

Low Pressure cutout - use the closed contacts in conjuntion to an interior/exterior audible alarm ( with a theft notice sign ofcourse...) They may loose a bit of refrigerant in an attemped theft but at least the thief will be alarmed at the alarm going off...

Hook up line voltage to unit housing remove ground that will teach them to steal

why not just mount it on the roof
if the thief can can up there and get it down without being caught then it is his:)
