Humidifier and stat in Ductboard

I just installed a HE225A with manual stat in a customers ductboard and it seems to not read very well, I dont think it is far enouph in the air stream, Is there a recessed plate or bracket that is offered to help this issue or should I just make it work in a differant location?

What is there to worry about ??? I have seen some pretty bad installs in ductboard due to tech not thinking long term and they will work loose over time , but not if it is done with correct mounting, Tell me your story's
