Old York diamond 80 furnace

Flame ignites, Flame is detected and then immediately shuts down. Flame sensor was replaced. Does not help. The control has a continous light indicating the error code "replace control board".

My question is "how reliable is this particular fault code?" Or should it be a no brainer and do what the board is indicating.

time to call your service guy to bring out a board, I would say the codes don't lie, but they have, so best not to try repairing yourself. If its not the board you would end up with one you may or may not need in the future + still have a service call.
