A co-worker and myself replaced a Trane TE-630P Temperature sensor that is giving a false reading on the Trane Tracer building software. The actual O.A. temperature the day the sensor was installed was 69 deg F. The sensor ohmed out at 1004 ohms which correlated to 70 deg F. The Trane softeware showed an O.A. temp of 189 deg F. The sensor is located in a recessed outside well that has a grated cover that shields the unit from direct sunlight.
Any ideas?

If it read 1000 ohms then it's probably a platium/RTD type sensor. The one you replaced was most likely a thermistor. There are a couple different fixes the easiest would be to buy a thermistor sensor and install it.
