View Full Version : Hilary Trying Hard to be Preceived as a Woman

glennac

She has a real problem with her image and is trying desperately to soften it.

"Her problem is not her sex, as she and her campaign pretend. That she is a woman is a boon to her, a source of latent power. But to make it work, she has to seem like a woman."

"No one doubts Mrs. Clinton's ability to make war. No close or longtime observer has ever been quoted as saying that she may be too soft for the job. Instead one worries about what has always seemed her characterological bellicosity.

She invented the War Room, listened in on the wiretaps, brought into the White House the man who got the private FBI files of the Clintons' perceived enemies. This is not a woman who has to prove she's tough enough and mean enough; she is more like a bulldozer who has to prove she won't always be in high gear and ready to flatten you. ... But as a matter of political temperament and habit of mind, she is neither patient, high minded nor forbearing. Those who know Mrs. Clinton well, and my world is thick with them, have qualms about her toughness, not doubts."

No doubt she is more of a man than the metro sexual, sissies and flakes running against her in the Democratic Primary.

She has NO solutions.
Develop and maintain more victims' groups.

She has NO vision.
How much will you wager that she expands the power of the Executive?

She has NO values.
That may be approaching accurate. If only it were true.

She has NO overall plan.
Take your money and spend it. Because we all know that liberal programs are by and large complete failures, and they reward that failure with more of YOUR money. The overall plan is socialism.

BTW, on that note have you heard about the book called "The Forgotten Man" ? It was discussed on the radio, and the author talked about how people got to a point where big gov't seems like a solution to both sides of the aisle now.
It sounds like a good book. Anyone read it?

Hillary wouldn't be so scary if so much the voting public wasn't clamoring for her brand of socialism

"Some believe the abandoned pet could now come between Hillary Clinton and her ambition to return to the White House as America’s first woman president.

Clinton has been boosting her prospects in the past week with some homespun references to her gender as part of a series of events with the theme Women Changing America, during which she chatted girlfriend-to-girlfriend and mom-to-mom with female voters.
“In the annals of human evil, off-loading a pet is nowhere near the top of the list,” writes Caitlin Flanagan in the current issue of The Atlantic magazine. “But neither is it dead last, and it is especially galling when said pet has been deployed for years as an all-purpose character reference.”

The Executive Branch has no such legal authority to expand their powers beyond what the constitution already provides.

It's also noteworthy to point out that there are many who view the Bush administration as broadly expanding Executive powers through illegal means.

I really-really-really-really don't see why anyone would support Hillary. She has no real qualifications, she has a radical socialistic agenda, she's a known liar, and as president she would be a disaster for our country.

uuum Hillary Clinton is a "band wagon" politician. By that I mean, when ever a Democrat comes up with [what would appear to be ] a good idea, her and Chuck Shummer jump on the band wagon.

I have talked extensively with my customers about Hillary Clinton, and to be honest I have no clue how she became a Senator of NYS

NO One I have talked to likes the wench?

When she came to NY, I told EVERYONE I know that the only reason she is here is so she can run for President. No one believed me :(

She is an out-and-out Lier...period. When she was running for Senator, SHE PROMISED she would not seek the presidency............see how well that worked out

She made promises the she would help upstate NY flourish by increasing jobs and making this area more attractive to business? She PROMISED to bring 22,000 jobs to upstate NY, in fact, since she has been Senator, 65,000+ jobs HAVE LEFT THE STATE.

As far as I'm concerned, she will bring this country to ruin. She is ANTI-SECOND AMMENDMENT, she is PRO socialist. She believs in MORE GOVERNMENT and we should give up our INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS for the "common good"

It is my personal belief, that if Hillary gets in office, the country will NOT be run by Hillary, it will be run by George Soros backed by Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy. And these people are very bad for business.

These are just my personal opinions, YMMV

chillbilly
10-21-2007, 09:05 PM
The fact that she even has a chance is pitiful and speaks volumes about the mentality of the voters in both NY and the rest of the country.
Apparently too many people who claim they don't like her, end up voting for her.
That noted, I don't believe she stands a chance in a general election throughout this country.
Her and her husband are the two most vilified and investigated politicians in American history...and there's a reason for that.

Hardly anyone is willing to put in a hard days work and are eager to go out on workers comp. if given the chance. Better yet, sue somebody with money and just quit their job. The odds are better than winning the lottery.
Americans have sold out. This nation really needs some soul searching but don't count on it. The people will take the easy way out and vote in the "nanny state". Of course many of us know this will lead to our ruin. Oh well....I need the latest and greatest MP3 player..

Nope. Not saying that at all. The truth is, glen, the people of this nation lack a lot of discipline and accountability in their lives. It is easier to blame others for their actions and play the victim. Think about all the excuses you hear from people on why the government needs to take more care of them.
Look around, glenn....you can see it happening. The nanny state is already here and is about to expand to ever more dangerous portions, Hillary or no Hillary.

Bingo! And as we all know with the Clintons words only mean what they want them to mean. You know...some people are more equal than others.

What President Bush does, and what he has done--is set the precedent for President Hillary to do to a yet unnamed group during her (God help us) or "whoever gets elected's" term in office.

What power taken by the gov't during times of national stress has been relinquished after that stress is relieved? Don't look to HRC to let it go.

And now the GOP frontrunner is pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-affirmative action, marches proudly in Gay Pride parades, and presided over a sanctuary city for illegal aliens.

If Texas puts in for Hillary, they should be annexed by Mexico.:D She has no chance of carrying a single southern state. Apparently, there is still some sanity in the voting populus.

I also think she'll have a big problem in parts of the mid-west.

That's a good point about Florida, but I still don't think she would win Florida or Arkansas. I would think it's going to depend on who the republican candidate is if she were to have any chance there.
I don't particularly like Rudy, but my guess is he would clean her clock in Florida. A more conservative republican could likely be beaten down there.

We may very well be able to endure an administration that is intent on bringing more socialist policies upon us, but why should we have to?

glennac
10-24-2007, 08:09 PM
Lets play a game robo. You have two parties in this country one is the Libertarians and the other is the Communists. When a Libertarian is President the commies will hate him just like the Democrats do Bush. But when the communists take over are the Libertarians supposed to be nice and keep their mouths shut and watch while the country is being destroyed.

I think not. Now I'm not going to act crazy and scream and lie like the Democrats do all the time but I will call a spade a spade, a commie a commie and so on. Don't expect good Americans to be polite when they break every rule in the House and Senate and lie on the floor of Congress and play dirty tricks in the White House. Have you forgot file gate, the travel agency, and so on and so on.

One dirty lying trick after another while Clinton was in office. Osama getting away, the pardons, the radical commie appointments to the Supreme Court. I could go on but we are not playing with a honest and decent party here at least in the upper leadership.

It is my personal opinion, that the election will come down to an abstract fact:

The weather.

If it's raining, women will not go to the polls, women hate rain and Hillary will lose

If the weather is nice, Hillary will probably win, because of record numbers of women going to the polls.

I have never denied and never will that there is some degree of corruption in all politics and all parties. By cop out I mean that if you say that all politicians are corrupt and all parties are corrupt to the same degree and therefore there is not a dimes worth of difference between them so then why argue for one party or the other they are all the same and so on. I would expect no different from you Glenn.
You've exhibited countless times in ARP that you are an extremist.
You hold all politicians accountable who do not subscribe to your ideals and issue perpetual free passes for those who represent your ideals and values.
That's your right and your choice.

My point is that if you dig a bit deeper, you will find many of those who provide lip service about traditional conservative values who really don't represent those values at all and you will find liberals who contradict their values as well.
I don't keep score, but I have an excellent memory and I will not vote for liars and thieves, regardless of what political party they belong to.
I expect all politicians to be honest. And no doubt, the joke is on me and everyone else who thinks the majority of these people will represent honesty and ethics.

Pertty small distinction between your phrase "to admit that politicians from every political party in this country are corrupt" and my comment that you said "that all politicians are corrupt". It's close to the same but I will grant that you did not say all.

Now you are calling me an "extremist". I will not resort to name calling like you are doing now because it is against the rules. I also resent your caracterisation that I "hold all politicians accountable who do not subscribe to your ideals and issue perpetual free passes for those who represent your ideals and values". I have never done that or will but you believe what you want.

You are beginning to sound like geer maybe you want to take over his rein in ARP now that he is gone. You are off to a good start with this and some other posts you made not to long ago. I can't understand why you want to argue with me so strongly over this. you need to calm down and lay off the false accusations and name calling which I can't and won't respond to.

Name calling? I charachterized you as an extremist. I didn't insult you.
It's not a dirty word Glenn. It's how I perceive your politics. As extreme.

And you need to understand that you don't dictate my form of debate here, with you or anyone else.
For the most part, I agree with your politics with the exception of you calling everyone a "commie" who has different ideas than you about politics and politicians. That's what I view as extreme.

You want me to lay off when you don't like the direction the debate takes?
Forget it. It's not going to happen.
Hey, you called me out and insisted I was copping out, a statement you now acknowledge was inaccurate. I never attacked you.
You seem to have had an axe to grind with me over my criticism of a banned, former member and you want to take me to task about anything over that.
That's your choice. Suit yourself.

I don't really see the use of the term "extremist" as name calling, at least not in this context. Let's all cool our jets a bit and keep things civil so a good discussion can continue.

Thanks!

No doubt she is more of a man than the metro sexual, sissies and flakes running against her in the Democratic Primary.

This is nothing more than extremist hate spewed by the OP who, btw is not going to resort to name calling here.

Give me a break guys.
Go ahead and tame the debate to suit yourselves.

Whether or not you decide this is "worth your time" matters not to me, but we will not have flame wars in here and I was diffusing the bomb before it went off. If you want to discuss it further, you have my e-address and the one for ARPC.

This is a good discussion guys, don't jeopardize it by starting some crap.

I heard a theory a while ago that, in a way, makes sense. According to the commentator, Hillary being elected President would, in the long run, be the best thing that could happen to this country. Her first two years in office would show those people who don't pay attention what liberals are really about and by the 2010 elections Conservatives would take solid control of both the House and Senate and by the end of her term the Presidential election would be a landslide for Republicans. The catch is having four years of President Hillary.

I read that too. Makes sense, I just hope 4 years of Hillary wouldn't do irreparable harm.

This is the second time you have used the word this time even worse. Saying it is "extremist hate" while referring to me. I was not calling you a metro sexual or a sissy but the folks running against Hillary. It is obvious for every one to see this. Ann Coulter has said worse. Just like it is obvious that there is a difference between the two parties and they are not the same in corruption regardless of what you say. Everybody except Democrats see this too. I guess you feel free to continue to throw insults at me and so far you have been getting away with it. If you are a liberal and a Democrat you can say a lot more than a conservative because you think you have the high moral ground because you feel for the people and conservatives are mean and evil and therefore you can use names like extremist and that is ok. Also I don't call anyone who disagrees with me a commie. I said it in a comical satirical sense to geer and some far out left wing Democrats but not to other members here. Show me a post where I have and please stop making false accusations.

Guess I should clarify--they wouldn't admit to supporting her and wouldn't. Some people will say they support someone (even if they don't) if they think it makes them look good. I don't even know anyone that would do that!

Where I come from (good old middle western America!) they have names for "ladies" like her. Most people won't utter it because it isn't polite but I can definitely tell you that it isn't MRS. PRESIDENT!
How would Bill be addressed if this unlikely event came to pass? First Gentleman? First Ladies Man?

Chillbilly,

The ARPC have voted to infract you for arguing with a mod/committee member. This action will result in a 10 day ban. If you choose to return after your ban period, please be advised that each member of the ARPC has the authority to caution or warn posters for the purpose of enforcing ARP and site rules. We respectfully suggest that all members respect ARPC authority so we can work together to have a great forum.

These "inflated heads" are the only reason ARP is still here. Orders came from the top to clean it up or lose it, so we cleaned it up. The reality of the situation is that certain things that previously went on in ARP are no longer acceptable. New rules are posted and anyone who can't follow them will have to go, that's just the way it is now. We can still have good discussion, but as a rule of thumb don't do anything here that you wouldn't do an the other forums and you'll probably be fine.

Another message board I post on just shut down about half their forums because of an advertiser who objected to some of the content. Be glad that the administration here was good enough to give us a chance to fix the problem instead of just shutting us down like the other site did.

Chillbilly's ban will be over in about a week.

Chillbilly's ban will be over in about a week.

After more or less quietly observing what has happened around ARP since the inception of the committe, I'd have to say that despite this admirable effort, ARP is on the way down and out.

James might have screwed up royally, but he was a key player here. I'm not saying that the ban was necessarily wrong, just observing its effect. I haven't spoken to Geer, but I can almost assure you he is gone and not returning over free speech issues.

Say whatever you like about these guys, agree or disagree, their words almost always sparked good debate.

I have been having thoughts of making an exit myself. That way, all of those folks that believe that I am here for no other reason than to cast them down will be able to have their long sought after agenda discussion just as they would feel comfortable having it; with none around to challenge thier views.

Major players gone? People not interested in hearing counter-debate? I understand why you would want one to speak directly to the committee rather than obliviate on the forums, but there is also a reverse, and not very good looking way, to view the quelling of public dissent.

I realize I am a guest here and bound by the rules and guidlelines of the owners of the site. I agreed with the Committee and I respect the editor and Admin for trying to save this mess when it would have been FAR easier to just close it down.

I'd have to say that it is not working, it is not going to work, and that ARP is a FAR lesser place than it once was.

Perhaps it is time to find forums where political debate is "the thing". What this board has become means there is no longer room for ARP. In my opinion.

You summed it up Petty good Scroge. This place has died with the last purge. It's a shame but that is the truth and it cannot be denied or explained away. The sponsors want no discussion other than technical info which is fine I like them too but nothing outside that unless it is something along the lines of Kum by ya and that sort of thing. The committee has done a good job and the sponsors should be real happy.

Two things and then I'd like to drop it;

1) The circumstances concerning James' ban had nothing to do with ARP or the ARP Committee. It happened in General Discussion where neither I nor the other ARP committee members have any authority.

2)Glenn, no one has ever indicated that they want no discussion other than technical matters. If that was so they would have closed general discussion, grill forums, etc. For that matter why didn't they just close this forum if they didn't want non-technical discussion. Why do you keep coming up with these ridiculous ideas? Do you actually think about these things before you post them? All we are trying to do is to stop the flame wars and ugly language/names calling, etc. Anyone who can't have a discussion without all that is not mature enough to be on a computer without parental supervision anyway. All that has really changed here is that it isn't a "free for all" anymore, we have to keep it decent like we would in the rest of the H-Talk forums.

The biggest problem with ARP right now is the handful of you who keep whining about how it has changed. Every time you start this stuff up it throws a damper on new discussions and replies to existing threads. There are only a very few of you who have griped about the changes, we've had far more positive comments from posters who like the changes and feel that they can now post in ARP without immediately getting their butts shot off.

In summary, stop your griping and it will be fine. Put your energies into new debates instead of griping about the past. Attitudes are contagious; do we want to spread negativity or shall we project a positive outlook for others to pick up on?
