Hello to all from the soon to be great white north,
I just had a new AC system installed in late September as Follows:
Condensing unit - Ruud UAND018JAZ (13 Seer)
Evaporator Coil - Advanced Distributor Products HE30424A140A (13 Seer)
Location - Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
The 2 ton evaporator is equipped with a factory non bleed TXV. I checked the ARI site and could not find a match so I'm disappointed with the Ruud authorized dealer that did the job.

My question is what effect will this match have on system performance and life and if it turns out to have a negative effect is there any recourse with the Ruud Company?

Any assistance you are able to provide is certainly appreciated.

We use a lot of ADP with Ruud. No problems .

That is a 2 ton coil on a 1.5 ton condenser, and you have a TXV valve in the coil. That sounds like a good deal to me!

In the RUUD line there are only even tonnage coils, so:

In your installation you would have a 2 ton coil. In a 2.5 ton install there would be a 3 ton coil... etc (except there is not a 4.5 ton A/C unit).

ADP are good coils (some might not agree), I use them for replacements on generic systems quite often. Never had a problem as of yet.

As far north as you are, you may not run your A/C enough to put any real stress on your system.

Hint: Keep your air filter changed as often as necessary. That is the one thing you can do to help your system last and perform well.

Thank you very much gentlemen. It appears as though the dealer was reasonable in his selection of coils. I was concerned because he had told me at the time of his estimate that the Ruud coil was very tall and it could extend a bit high into the furnace bonnet. I was surprised at the difference in coil height and thought I may have a problem with an incorrect coil.

BaldLoonie, sure was happy to see that you found the ARI. You obviously have much more experience with the ARI site than I. But then again you're a pro and it shows.

I appreciate the comments and advice from all, have a great evening.
