Anyone ever heard of Marvair? I asked for a Liebert unit for a communications system cooling unit and this is what I was told to get.

Sure have.

Tons of them down here (South Carolina).

Between those & Bard, they are used on many schools, trailers & telecommunications buildings. I've seen heat pumps, straight A/C w/resistive heat, with or without hot gas reheat (for dehumidification(, with or without energy recovery wheels.

A few years ago they were having a problem with some of the outdoor fan blades fracturing and jamming into the shrouds but I've not heard about that recently. Overall, not too bad to deal with.

Marvair is made in Georgia and is a pretty good speciality company. I use to do a lot of warranty work for them and use to talk to the owner back then. I think he's just of the owners and they are in a speciality market.

When the dot.com's were in business they sold one hect of a lot of site systems and I use to handle my share of them. The company has changed it's direction due to the economy but it's still a good company, I would believe.

Marv air is mainly used on trailer type application, or prefab buildings. They hang off the wall on the outside of the structure. Most of the remote cell sites have 2 mounted on them 1 for back up. If your application is a central hub with a high tonnage load, then Marair is not the way to go.

I've worked a bit with Marvair in a few different schools, set in the classrooms. Overall they seemed to run pretty well...... but compared with a Liebert? I don't kow, I think if I had my choice I'd take the Liebert........

If its a shelter go with Bard, if its cabnet units go with Mclean. I work with Marvair everyday and dont like the job they do.
