lost

hello all im new to the forum and to the world of hvac and im lost on a train unit its not a heat pump when i ran the test on it it worked good but after ten minutes went by and i was on another unit working i was informed that the T-stat had no dicplay on it after checking this unit over and there is power comming in and i have 24volt but the unit will not run on and the T-stat stays blank if i push the contactor in it runs but will not run on it own anyway I could go on for hours anyone got any help :(
