Carrier in my area is hiring and I would like to know what it is like working for Carrier.
I have worked for the fortune 100 companies, and the medium sized single owner companies and there are pros and cons with each.
If you have experience working as an employee of Carrier, I would like to hear you feelings about how their work culture was.

Carrier can kiss my white a$$. A associate at at carrier distributor informed me that the columbia s.c branch was looking for service techs and gave me the number of the human resources manager.Called him up and told him i was interested and after describing my 16 years of commercial/industrial refrigeration and air conditioning experience he said " you're just what we are looking for, send me your resume" I email him resume. No call. Wait four days and call him back to make sure he recieved the resume. "yeah i got it, been real busy, but i will defiently get back with you" A month has now gone by, no response. Ohh well. Like i said CARRIER can kiss my white a$$. Local Trane branch wants to hire me but i all but give up on the large oem factory companys.

Shouldn't you call the local union hall first? Then they can interrogate you first. Then they might let you talk to Carrier. Isn't that the way it works?

Carrier is ok to work for. It will be how your local branch is managed that determines how it will go. The branch that I use to work for went through 15 managers in 20 years. They never could get their act together.

I love working for Carrier. Good pay, tons of work, free insurance, lots and lots of othere benies (such as $300 a year for boots, tuition reimbursement on any kind of schooling, very generous vacation and holiday time, excellent on - call reimbursement, mostly new vans, etc. etc.)
I haven't bought a tool since I started. They provide them all.
I do agree with licensed to chill, however. With the background check, paperwork, drug test, etc. It took about 6 weeks to get hired.
But I haven't had less than 40 hours a week since I started and get regular raises.
And I work on a lot more than just Carrier equipment.

Yeah I dont know from experience but I do know the guys at FES Systems where I used to work said that when carrier owned FES that they had great benefits, huge bonuses, vacation, holidays, etc. So I imagine it can't be all that bad.
