i have a hot gas (1 1/8) running about 20 feet across a drop ceiling (about a foot away) thats kinda noisy. customer just moved some employes into this room and can't stand the sound. i installed 1/2" instulation , but didn't make any difference ,,, any ideas:confused:
I think Liebert or carlyle have an orifice plate that mounts between the discharge service valve and the compressor, that is if you have an o6d compressor in there!

That noise is tough to conceal. Maybe do they have sound proofing type of ceiling tile.

Before ripping the customer's decision to sit people in "there", are they sitting in the data center, or is this line running through an office space?
You wouldn't think it matters.
But, Liebert's aren't made for office spaces. Now noisy lines in office spaces are another challenge.
I recommend those white noise systems.

Hang Kindorf under the pipes, clamp piping to Kindorf with the rubber insert Kindorf clamps. Place unfaced four inch bats on top of ceiling tiles. First I'd check the charge to make sure it's correct.

call the 1-888# for liebert and give them the line sizes and lengths get their two cents. Have had recent liebert installs were I'm sure the factory spec called to have two mufflers installed just to deal with hot gas noise like you refure to.
