For a service technician. Entry-level with HVAC cert., EPA/ICE, commercial internship experience with large and well-respected hospital. (All to be completed in Dec. 07.)

Wisconsin: Madison or Milwaukee areas.
Pittsburgh, PA
Cincinnati, OH

Just looking to move to an area with a decent fall, 4 seasons and lots of trees. Where we move (or if at all) will ultimately depend on job opportunity so we're trying to keep our options open. This forum has been great and informative so far btw! I found the thread on job interview questions to be very helpful.

C Ville is about 2 1/2 hours from D.C. , not much snowfall around here, schools aren't bad, low crime. i drive 20 miles to work with three traffic lights. we are 1 hour west of richmond. do a search for UVA JObs.com. i work for the university of virginia college and hospital. you cannot beat the benefits. 45 days off a year, medical, dental, drugs, short term and long term disability, matching ira up to forty dollars a month. all tools, uniforms provided. plus alot of discounts around town.

Pitt. Pa. The city is very congested. The weather sucks and the roads are horriable. Too many bridges and tunnels. Other than that, its a great place. lol

Oh great. Well we're thinking of a bunch of places so when I'm ready to post my resume we'll see where I get calls from ...

btw do companies usually do phone interviews for relocations or do they prefer for you to fly in?

Seattle fits the bill too pal. Or Portland, OR. Both are very nice, don't know what you are missing.

Earthquakes and skyrocketing prices ... well, the threat of earthquakes, anyway. My wife won't live near them. But still, real skyrocketing prices.

I am in WI. Actually in between Madison and Milwaukee. For the most part I love it here, but the taxes are getting out of control. The Governeor we have will not be happy until we are on top of the highest taxed states list. (we're getting there) Are you looking to do commercial or residential? Union or non? Residential work is pretty slow right now.

I'd like to do commercial since I hear it's better working conditions. My training is mostly in residential, but the internship (whenever it starts) will be in commercial. The taxes are definitely something to consider with Wisconsin.

Been to Seattle and Tacoma, too much rain for my tastes. ;)

But Charlottesville Va is decent, also Harrisonburg Va, is a good place to live as well and is growing quite nicely.

Moved from seattle to georgia a few months ago, i dont advise you go to seattle area due to the weather (it doesnt rain as much as you think, but it looks like it will about 300 days out of the year). The market in that area is in furnace work because most people dont have a/c or heat pumps. You also must become low voltage (something like that) electrician licenced. So if your into a/c it is not the best place to be, but if you work heat your in the money. :D
