Dove Season.

Does Dove season open up Labor Day Weekend all over the whole wide world..... or just in Colorado? It's the only huntin season thats never changed dates my entire life. I love to shoot them little buggers, but I hate to eat um.

Yep it starts Saturday here as well. Gotta get a case of 8's for the 12 and 20ga. and a 30 pack for me:D

Pack'm in dry ice and send them my way. I love eating Dove. It's like getting 2 pieces of meat in one and tastes great. We fry them up in a deep fryer just like chicken.

Not many here yet either. Will start the smoker for a buddy Sat. am and throw some boston butt's on and hunt his field while he roofs his addition:p

Should be enough fire left to bacon wrap them and give them the smoke. hmmm ........ i think a beer run will be in order then

Yes sir. Just like fried chicken. Put some cajun seasoning in the mix and they're pretty good. With the dark and light meat it's like 2 in 1. I kinda think the dark tastes kinda chicken livery.

Thats why I kinda don't like um, I think. I'm thinking about grinding the meat, then making jerkey. Works good on duck breast. I'ts kinda rich too. I'm gonna try the beer batter tho.

Take the meat off the breast, put a half of jalapeno between the meat, wrap it in bacon, put a toothpick through it and season and grill to your liking...
