Why would this be considered spam? There are several threads that are started only for the purpose of promoting Hillary, Obama and other political candidates. Why would this one be considered spam?

Could you please point out these threads?

They are coming... We are toiling hard at work as we type....

It's not spam. What IS spam is the field of "more of the same" candidates, on both sides of the aisle, all enlarging government in spite of the founding documents.
We're from the government, we're here to help you, you're safe now

I heard Dr. Paul in Des Moines. He was much better than all the usual hype that precedes those events. It's a simple message of peace, freedom, and prosperity.
I'm sure the folks in the military-industrial complex have major disagreements with Dr. Paul, but, such is life...

Go Ron Paul!

Multiple post, perhaps.....;)

Dr. Paul is certainly a fresh idea....alas, the System hates change...:o

Can you quote the rule?

James 3528

Can you quote the rule?

It actually meets the criteria of a Internet Troll.

Does the rules address that? Perhaps not. So why is there a committee again?

Now wait a minute. Did you mean the guy was trolling or spamming?

It does not meet spam criteria according existing H-Talk rules. You wanna change the rules? You should'a stepped up to the plate when your name came up in the lineup. Spilt milk an' all that now, though.

Spamming and trolling have definitions. There on the internet. A stop sign has a definition. A green light has a definition. Does anyone stepping up to a plate change the definition?

The plate? What changed up at the plate?

Well, first you called it spamming. Then you called it trolling. I'm just trying to figure out which you really mean.

Either way, it does not meet the criteria for spamming according to H-Talk rules as they are currently worded.

You wanna talk about trolling, knock yerself out. Frankly, that is not what's at issue here.

James 3528

So H-talk is defining Spamming and Trolling? What's next, are they going to define a sunny day ? What a tree looks like?

What was the issue?

chillbilly

The current rules on what is and isn't spam are availaible for all to read and yes, H-Talk has defined the rules on spam, but not on a sunny day, as far as I know.
Just look at the top of the page.

Committee members please remember that admin has asked us not to debate the current rule with other members nor any changes we are working on.
We are trying to change the way the rule is worded and the members of the committee have been working to do that.

If any modifications are adopted, you will be able to read them at that time.

No. YOU stated what the internet definition is. Not me. And I never said H-Talk did.

Okay, geer. What'd you do with James?

James 3528

I never stated what it was, hit Google. You said the existing H-Talk rules defined it or didn't?

Who's trolling now.... :)

I guess the powers that be can decide what is and isn't spam. It will probably be different thinking for each board you visit.

H-Talk has defined what it calls spam...not necessarily what you or the net define as spam. It has not defined trolling, as far as I know.

What difference does it make anyway, at this point?

I didn't say arguing. I said debating.
And the edict didn't come from me.
It was just a polite reminder.
I'm not trying to tell anybody what they have to do, least of all you boots.

Ron Paul 2008

I guess I just didn't see the point of the one line post with a title. The point referenced in the title is moot as we already have a constitution. The one line post was a 3 words that I will assume means to vote for Ron Paul. I really don't see the start of a discussion, a point being made or anything else.
It's like saying
Go Cardinals!!
Yahoo!

It's a nice sentiment but where does it get you...

Or was he telling Ron Paul to vote for the constitution in 2008? That makes even less sense.

I would suggest that you consider the points of the candidate himself. Were they to be printed in the thread, would you read them?

Vote for the constitution makes sense if the constitution is running. :D

I think Dr. Paul represents a fusion of republican and libertarian ideas working together most strongly to uphold the U.S. Constitution.

I would like to add that I did post his candidate platform, the little pamphlet that is circulating with his supporters, and it was a thread that went nowhere. I can accept that, it's not as though it matters. But here is the old thread. http://hvac-talk.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=142882

So here's to your request for some discussion material. Although I think Dr. Paul represents a fusion of republican and libertarian ideas working together most strongly to uphold the U.S. Constitution, there is room for debate on the topic. What do you think?

As written by Doc...

-let Americans keep more of their own money.
-end the IRS.
-stop the central bankers' inflation tax.
-stop unconstitutional spending leading us to bankruptcy.
-stop the financial dependency on China, Saudi Arabia, and other foreign governments.
-oppose trade deals and groups that threaten American independence.
-protect our privacy and stop the national ID card.
-protect our constitutional rights and end the "Patriot" Act.
-secure our borders and end illegal immigration.
-end birthright citizenship for illegal aliens.
-bring our troops home from no-win "police actions".
Would you vote for someone who has never voted to raise taxes, never voted for an unbalanced budget, never voted to raise congressional pay, never taken a gov't paid junket?
There is such a candidate out there.
Question is : Is America ready for this man?

Give the people back the government we should have.....

The possibilities for economic prosperity and self sufficientcy with out bureaucratic strings.......too much to demand ?????

I agree to all those things except the cut and run policy of the Democrats. It's the only thing on the list they stand for. That's why Mr Paul is pissing in the wind.

The military is not a "institution" and they don't have a state side mission. A guy running for President should know that and you.

Mankow's List Of Subjects He Knows Nothing About

1. FEMA
2. The US Armed Forces

Not sure if any of us gets "the message". There is always a lot of work to do with regard to remaining vigilant about our liberties.
I would like to revisit some of the Founders (of our country) wisdom with regard to not getting into entangling alliances. I think that the World Wars are a testimony to entangling alliances, but now we are battling the globalization of politics, because of the almighty dollar.
And yes, I will still be driving a fossil fuel vehicle as we consider this.
Just getting prepared for a lifetime of combatting economic liberalism gone global, and how we can maintain our own country's sovereignty, rather than bow at the altar of the U.N.
