I would like to share a feeling with you folks that I have felt for some time. Ahem...lets see..how do I begin. I believe in a universal energy or force connects us as human beings, I also believe this energy ties into all living things. For the past several years, even before 911, I have felt a huge negativity in this force.
This negative energy manifests itself in many ways to me, here a some observations:
Folks seem to unhappy and keep to themselves more. They drive around with frowns on their faces and are generally rude and resentful. This can be attributed to media saturation of bad news and a poor economy. I feel its deeper than that though.
I see this negativity being capitolized on as well in media and entertainment. We have created a society that thrives off violence, drugs and sexually explicit images. This is sad, and is an element that has been fed to us a little at a time and has made us calus and desensatised.
I see rapid growth of industry and urban sprawl in the world, when utimatly these things do not make us happy. Nobody wants to look out their window and see a smoke stack, but rather beautiful trees and a park with playing children.
I see us moving to a socialised government and the elimination of the middle class.
There are many many things that I can go on talking about. Let me summerize by saying this.
There are many factors poisoning us and our surroundings. We are the cause and the cure of these issues that we face. I feel that many of us are depressed because we feel its too late and what can we do when its all we can do to work and try to take care of our own. Well folks, even the mighty oak starts out as a tiny seed. We can make a difference...and we can start by creating the american family again and instilling proper values in our children.
We can change the laws and do away with all the unnecessary violence and mindless BS that desensitises us through TV and the internet.
Lets get back to being friendly, back to creativity in fine arts...true fine arts and not abstract bullcrap and pornography.
Lets get back to farming our own foods, and creating beautiful architecture. We can live in harmony with nature you know.
Back to being neighbors and inviting the new guy on the block over for a beer.
Back to helping each other, instead of everyone going their seperate way and laughing at anothers demise.
This is what makes us truley happy as people. Money wont keep you happy, nor will a big house, boat or a sports car. These are things that only mask your emotions for a short time until you are unhappy again and purchase something else.
Stop watching the tele and read a book, or socialise with your neighbor. Be creative and careing. Stick it out with your old lady and try to work through problems. Raise those children proper like and bestow them with good intentions.
When your laying on your death bed, you will not be thinking about your bills or how much you own. You will be thinking about your friends and loved ones and whether or not you were the best person you could have been. People will not remember you for your money or video games, they will remember you for what you have taught them and for your personality that you shared.
Thanks for reading, and I hope I made sense.
All good things
