I'm gone for a while and there is a committee being elected to patrol the "sand box", and there is this little green thing that says either "an unknown quantity" or "on a distinguished road".

I believe an unknown quantity means you value independence and question decisions made by TPTB ,wereas a distinguished path means you have unquestioned loyalty and say yes to TPTB. One is selected for how close they resemble a sheep and the other for how they resemble a wolf.
