TAXES
62 % of all "undocumented immigrants" in the U.S. are working for cash and not paying taxes, predominantly illegal aliens are working without a green card
The cost of immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 (last known calculation by Professor Donald Huddle, Rice University) was a NET (after subtracting taxes immigrants pay), $70 Billion per year. [What are the 2006 costs?]
The lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average illegal alien is $55,000 cost to the American taxpayer in a 5-year span. You personally pay $11,000 every year to illegal aliens.

JOBS (per Center for Immigration Studies - September 2006): Between 2000 and 2005, 4.1 million immigrant workers arrived in the U.S., accounting for 86% of the net increase in the total number of employed persons (16 & older), the highest share ever recorded in the U.S. Of the 4.1 million, between 1.4 and 2.7 million are estimated to be illegal aliens. Also, between 2000 and 2005, the number of young (16 to 34) native-born men employed declined by 1.7 million - at the same time, the number of new male immigrant workers increased by 1.9 million. [Do you still believe the gov't employment rate stats?]

ACTION: Please share this data with elected officials, particularly those who spew the PCBS about all the "contributions of illegal aliens to our society" AND "our economy would collapse without them"! However, NONE of this will matter IF our borders are not secured OR Pres. Bush succeeds in abolishing them (via his SPP, NAU, NAFTA Hwy), and illegal alien murders, drug smugglers and terrorists continue to be welcomed into our country.

A good majority of these "Illegal workers" stand out in front of home depots across the nation and other industrial areas every day.
yet we continually turn a blind eye towards this.

These people are robbing from our trades, and yet the most we can muster up is "talking" about it on a forum. no one is willing to initiate any action!

why?!?!?!?! I regularly confront these people in their language encouraging them to seek out citizenship and green cards.

Granted I'm the son of an Immigrant, but the bottom line is
my family assimilated, why can't they?!

Something still needs to be done to protect U.S. citizens from those who are commiting the illegal act of even being in our country. Illegallity needs to be dealt with no matter what, and the very existance of people illegally in the U.S. needs to be dealt with severely and absolutely.

Nobody dislikes illegals more than me but anybody can claim this is an INS/FBI report. The internet age is ripe with propaganda. I'd like to see more details on the source.
Anyway, I believe there are two things we all can do to stop the invasion of illegal aliens:
1. Take the time to research government officials, local to federal, on how they vote on illegal immigration and benefits. If they support illegals in any shape or form, vote them out. If not up for re-election, let them know in writing that your vote is one that they will not get.
2. Put pressure on your government officials, local to fed, to go after employers who hire illegal aliens. We need stiffer fines and penalties on these unscrupulous employers. I like the idea of hard time in prison. Enough is enough.
Gotta start somewhere. Just complaining about it over a morning cup of coffee is not doing any good. This is our country, so lets take care of it.

Well, as far as the not taking action, I would have to say that is your issue. I understand what you are getting at, but I have faxed the offices of my congress seat holders and the president about 25 times on this issue alone. I have spent countless hours calling the senate letting them know my opinion. We were able to squash the first wave of amnesty because of the overwhelming support of the citizens. I will continue to push for justice.

While the government is being corrupted for the sake of a dollar, we have a very small chance of resolving this issue in the best manner. There are too many tax dollars held by the companies hiring these illegal invaders, and the government wants this money. The companies love the cheap labor, cheap because of the no or little tax and compensation withdrawals, and will do anything to keep it. They say we do not have the funds to send these illegals invaders home, but we find infinite funds to send to all of the pet projects our government wants.

It appears to be against the constitution for our government to act this way, since they are not protecting or serving what the citizens desire. We are moving towards a new world, one that includes multiple nations under one roof. This will be the end of our SuperPower status.

ckone,
Thank you for setting the example. This is proof positive that the people still have a voice. Keep applying heat.

Thank you. I have just sent a few faxes for support of the president's now reformed newly activated immigration law enforcement. Just a FYI, you can fax your senators for free at www.numbersusa.com. It helps keep the gob'ment honest.

Ckone, I commend your efforts and your taking the initiative!!

DO NOT take my posting as being literal to anyone on this board but rather me speaking about the vast majority of americans that DO have a blind eye
or deaf ears on the matter! I'm speaking out against them!
Not against those that are taking actions or taking the initiative such as yourself! and thanks for the links! I have some letters to write!!

WHEC720, great Ideas! keep up the good work!

Pagan,
Thank you for your dedication and sacrifice. It is, as always, a team effort of all the Armed Forces. However, it is the Marines and Army that is on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan that is carrying the brunt of the load. You guys are heros and don't let anybody tell you otherwise!
I'll continue to write as well. Congress hopes we will give in eventually. I don't think they grasp any sense of reality on this issue. I'm for LEGAL immigration all the way. It is one of the many things that makes this country great. I will NEVER accept ILLEGAL immigration in any shape or form. Congress needs to listen to the people or pay the price.

My opinion is the same, exactly. I believe that a country made great by immigrants can be made greater by immigrants, but they must assimilate to a certain degree. I am asking that they learn english, as I learned German before vacationing there last year. How about actually paying the proper taxes? I am tired of hearing that they do pay taxes, but not the same as I do, regardless of their argument. It is time to take a stand on this issue and make things right. We need to enforce the laws on the books before we can repair anything.

I'm with you 100 percent. Glad to see others have a common sense approach to this issue and are WILLING TO ACT. :)

I too have fax'd and called and even coughed up some dough to contribute to the numbersusa site. I've received several "form" letters from my Senator - Kay Hutchinson, (R-TX) that were nothing more than BS about how we need workers. Nothing about enforcing our current laws, stopping chain migration or our archaic anchor baby law.

Farmers Branch, TX recently passed an ordinance seeking to stop the flow of illegals into the city. This passed by an overwhelming margin (2/3). An activist judge blocked the ordinance and FB has to spend $$$.

Visited my parents in OH this summer and actually saw what appeared to be legal citizens mowing lawns, pouring concrete and busing tables - jobs no legal American wants. Also none of that crap bi-lingual signage everywhere. We've become a nation of enablers; everyone does his own thing as long as it is easy and feels good and we're sensitive. Can't understand why we have laws and only enforce selected ones...I'd like to ignore those pesky income, FICA and worker's comp laws but they enforce those. :(
