I just walked off the job on Friday, first I got blamed for being honest on a workorder and a customer would not pay on a bill becuse of a "F" up that was our companys fault( Ifixed the problem someone else caused it) ,I was told to lie next time....sorry I'm a athiest and I have morals.. I can't and will not lie or cheat people out of their money, then at a company meeting the "BORN-AGAIN" GM stood up and talked about GOD for 45 minutes of the 1 hour meeting... that is illegal in my state....then the "BORN-AGAIN" owner took $80 out of my paycheck for cutting my finger on the job, I went to the Hospital to see if a needed a stitch... was never seen by a doctor and their was no claim by L&I....strike 3

Sounds like you did the right thing by getting out of there.
I have heard all the complaints about Union but you need someone to stick up for you about taking money out of your check? any way do you think you will get it back??

IMO there is a HUGE area between 'born agains' and true Christians.
The key word IMO is humility. And yes, many 'so called' Christians are not true Christians IMO.
Probably better to not judge the folks you have an issue with, but I have done the same thing you did.
Having said that, I am a Christian and practice Biblical values both in business and my personal life.

If someone from your company went out and screwed something up, and then you went and fixed it, then the customer should have paid you your fee. Now if they paid you the first time for the screw up, and now you want them to pay a 2nd time for fixing the screw up then Im wilh the customer on this one. I would not pay either. As for the preaching, if you were on the clock then I would take full advantage of the session. Ask alot of questions. Drag it out as along as you can. I would have asked if the meeting was mandatory, and if not, I would have gone back out to calls/the job...

I have 6 job leads already, Iwill be working by next Friday for more money. If you teach your employees to be thieves they will steal gas, tools, parts, time, jobs and money from YOU. Does no one get that we have again been had by yet another non-HVAC God hating antagonist?
While I have definitely seen hypocrisy in religous folk, it is quite obvious that the op of this thread is fabricating a story in order to promote his/her views of Christians.
I for one would rather see this forum disappear altogether rather then have it turn into yet another God and U.S. hating forum constantly ravaged by non-HVAC posters from sites such as Internet Infidels.
And then to add to the richness of this BS story, we get to hear the drivel of the union saviour wannabe come to the rescue of the atheist bs story.
What next; Christian workers stealing and raping the family pets?

Currently my boss is a Born-again.... He is a scheister salesman, and in my eyes, is somewhat of a rip off... I don't blame his religion for this, but rather his greed. In no way do I think it has anything to do with his choice of religion or how he practices it. He's not preachy, he knows better. He just likes big commisions... Fine. Keeps me working.   It's not my morals that have to sleep on ripping off that old lady that just needed a new gas valve, but got a new furnace, heatpump, and EAC,and an added Return Air duct....:( :(

Apology not needed but appreciated.
This thread hits me with a double whammy by attacking my faith as well as my profession. If this story really did happen, there are just so many ways to legally handle it.
My ex-wife worked for a cultist type of pseudo-Christian company that required an unpaid 1/2 hour of prayer before every work day. When one of the employees sued the company over this practice my ex along with all others who were offended by this practice testified that the practice indeed took place. Nearly a hundred thousand dollars in back pay was awarded to technicians who joined the suit.
With today's labor laws, there are not many legitimate labor issues that cannot be settled legally.

Again I have to state I have seen the same thing from pious people. Most of my dealings have been with Christians and Jews simply because that is what makes up most of the population of where I live. It seems that the more pious people claim their faith the more they are trying to convince themselves as much as others. People of faith are more convincing with good actions, not good words.
Is this not the argument that Jesus had against the money changers in the temple?

I guess what I wast trying to say is: It has nothing to do with somone's religion. Greed is greed, no matter how you slice it. It's one of the most disturbing aspects of business, but it's the law of the land. To succeed, one must be "cut throat". I understand this, and as someone who is aspiring to become a business owner my self, see this as one of my stumbling blocks. I want to be honest and fair, but I also realize that you have to be profitable as well. I do however believe that there is a fine line between providing a valuable service, and being a predator. The latter is what I detest. I work for a predator, which makes it hard for to sleep at night at times. It does not help that the main predator in charge, also claims to have these "christian values"... To me, that statement is BS, and like you said, they are just convincing themselves of just that!
But I also know, being honest and fair, I'll never get rich at this game. I guess it's just a matter of how far I am willing to take it.

People are people Christian, Jew, Athiest or Hindu.
There are good mixed in with the bad. I agree with Roboteq that after a while the same old story gets....... old. Lets put this one to bed.
As we have seen in this thread already Olenneker (Athiest) is morally concerned that his Christian boss is $crewing people. Robo and I (Christian/protestant) have seen the same or worse from Christian bosses.
I personally had an Athiest boss who was just breating up good air, and I currently have a Athiest coworker that is absolutely outstanding. I had a Christian boss who was one of the best HVAC mech's on earth and sold great deals.
Providing a good product at a fair (making a very good living) price is nothing to be ashamed of. I believe that we should have the best interest of our clients in mind, but also give them what they wish for.
For example if a young lady desires chest enhancement does she neeeeed it? and if so does she need DD's? (no opinions here just sheer utility:))
Of course not she will make it through life just fine, but you can find 1,000Doctors that will provide the service. The Focus is customer choice. So it may be a dead fan motor but if they want a new 20 SEER system give it to them and deposit the check and sleep good. I for one when I strike out on my own will not apoloigise for making good or even great money. If you do not value my service do not buy it! I am not saying open season on pressure sales either provide the facts along with a choice (several if you are smart) and let the customer decide.

The entity we refer to as God is not physical and therefore was not created but rather just "is". This is supported by the Biblical reference to God referring to Himself as "I am".
All of the physical world is a Creation of God. More then likely the Diests have it best figured out with all of the physical world having natural rules that have consequences for actions. We refer to this natural physics as "mother nature", which is nothing less then a feminine reference to God.

What did God do, exactly, before creation? Infinity stretches in both directions. Does God amuse himself? Does he need to?

Just pickin' on you Scrog, but if you choose God (Christ), you can ask Him when you get to heaven... ;) Otherwise, you will just have to wonder or dream or try to figure it out...

Hell scrog, we can't even figure out what's going on with mankind let alone know what God's schedule is. The best I can figure is that the complete spiritual entity of God is everything, good and evil. It appears that God seperated good from evil and is Created a physical world that evil can rule over.
It also appears that evil may have been boasting about being more popular then God. This may have been the catalyst that caused God to have spiritual parts of Himself into physical beings and allow those beings (us) to make the choice between good and evil. This is a really rough draft, but seems to make sense given the evidence at hand.

JMNSHO...
I think Chinook actually experienced what he OP'ed. There are lots of business owners who attend church, pray, sing in the choir, attend Bible study religiously but cheat and steal legally through their business.
They may be born again (which, GAHVAC-Tech, makes them Christians according to Scripture) but have zero spiritual maturity. The bottom line is that God will deal with them...in this life or the next...but He WILL deal with them, and it will not be pleasant. Scripture promises that.
Then again, they may claim to be born again but are, in truth, lost as Hogan's goat (sorry Dice :D ). They talk it but don't walk it. All they do is give Christianity a bad name.
Is Chinook down on Christianity? Darn right, he is. And if he has not believed on Christ himself, I totally understand why. Been there, done that.
What I would say to you, Chinook, is search the Scriptures for yourself and find someone who walks what they talk about Christianity. There are lots of them around and you'll know 'em when you have spent some time around 'em. Then, all the crap your boss puts out will not have the effect it has and you will find yourself able to call him on it. Heck...you might even save his soul. Stranger things have happened.:)

WOW. Real words of wisdom there.
The op has showed his true colors as a God hating, nut case and wanker is right there in his corner.
Yes, yes son. I'm sure every religious person on the planet is "jealous" of a lying, opportunistic, adultering, womanizer who has left a legacy on the presidency that would embarass Alfred E. Neuman.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Did I say "every" religious person? Did I? Once again, Chill, you are reading WAY too far in between the lines. YOu are very good at "imagined" reading comprehension...
And yes, I would rather have a womanizer leader than a overzealous war monger any day. When Clinton lied, no one died. Speaking of Alfred E. Newman, I won't bring in the GW Bush comparison to the Mad magazine spokesman...

I'll give him that one. However; can you imagine how ticked off every president of the U.S. must be at President Clinton because the dumbass ruined the power perk of being able to state you had sex in the oval office? Even if we get another devoutly faithful president like Jimmy Carter, he won't be able to lust in his mind if he is in the White House.

The problem with you wanker is that you would agree with any point of view provided it is not conservative or republican.
Did I say "every" religious person? Did I? Once again, Chill, you are reading WAY too far in between the lines. YOu are very good at "imagined" reading comprehension..
There's nothing imagined about it. You most certainly did implicate everyone with your one-word, blanket opinion.
If you don't want to be misunderstood, you need to elaborate instead of leaving so much on the table to be inferred.
DUH
In other words, say what you mean or stop complaining when people don't understand you.

LOL That's just like you wanker. Relying on the bumper sticker mentality to state your case. Are you certain that no one died as a result of the Clinton legacy of lies? Google it before you answer.

Thats not true, and you know it. As a matter of fact, I will most likely vote for a Republican President in the 2008 election. I think that there is promise in characters like Ron Paul. But, hey, I guess that blows your point well out of the water.

You are the only member on this board that misunderstands my posts with an alarming regularity. That being the case, perhaps it is you that need to re-evaluate your reading comprehension skills, not my writing skills. And yes, I was making a blanket statement. I typed one word. I let your imagination run wild, and look at the result.

It certainly is a slogan found on a bumper sticker, and it is valid. How many people dies because of ol' billybobs lies? I would like to see you stats on that one. Maybe there where some broken hearts, and a ruined dress, but they hardly equate starting an elective war on false premises, and defending those premises with more and more lies. Maybe you don't see them as lies, and that I feel sorry for you about.
