Corrosion Grenade - does it work?

Anyone have long term experience using a product like Corrosion Grenade? Obviously its just a zinc anode, which is the same thing boaters have been using for decades to protect metals on their vessel.

Well, does it help a condensing unit against corrosion?

I've heard installing a shaft zinc on the suction line at the compressor will actually increase coil life on coastal units. Shaft zinc's are cheap too. Like 10 bucks at the marina. Just make sure you get one that will fit snugly.
