Anyhow... well first off... I used Tammy Faye Bakker...I guess she remarried and became Tammy Faye Messner.... but who cares....she will always be Tammy Faye Bakker to me.

I wonder how her makeup is holding up down there where she is right now...probably standing there with old Jerry Falwell looking at a never ending mountain of coal that they must shovel for eternity into the furnaces of hell.

honestly I dont know what to think about her death.
I was a youngster when she was still doing the PTL ministries with Jimmy back in the 80's. My mother was devout with his ministry with the exception of never having invested in his hotels etc!:D Thank god!

but when their "Empire" went crashing down it made me distrust just about every TV evangilist that came along over the years.

however, a few nights ago I was flippin thru channels when i saw her doing an interview with L. King/ CNN and her most current look
do to the cancer. I was  . I couldnt belive my Eyes, and while I knew she was battleing cancer, I up to that point had not realized the severity of it.
I thought I was looking @ skellator with mascara!:D :( .
It's trully sad to have seen her like that, and honestly I feel for her husband who loved her, despite all her "history". Any man who could endure a marriage with a woman with health problems like that and her history has my respect! we could all take a page from his book about being devoted to your wife " in Sickness and in health, till death do us part!!"

Generally I side with you on this.
but i will freely admit, the day that Yasser Arafat Died
and Uday and Qusay Hussien died as well, I Rejoiced!
loudly and profusely!

especially with Arafat, the Godfather of Terrorism and initial architect behind using Planes & terrorism jointly for various operations.
he was painted by the media as this Santa clause like figure first when they gave him the noble peace and then even more when he died.
MANY MANY MANY people died as a result of him directly and in directly.

there's not enough pinnaples in hell to ramm up this clown's A$$

Seems to me that her husband was the ******* and she was just along for the ride. She was on the show the sereal life and it seemed she moved past her bad history and was on a new life.

Let he without sin cast the first stone.. (damn, I'm kinda' liberal and I said that).

Somebody who would celebrate the death of a person like this is a degenerate... I can understand being releived about some people dying... But to indulge in it for you own self gratification. There is a special place in hell for those people.

While we are on the subject of the PTL ministry, have any of you read Jim Bakker's book he wrote after his prison time: The title is:

I WAS WRONG

Jim saw a bunch of lite while he was 'inside' (Spiritual light IMO); the book is worth reading IMO.

Very revealing book and made me view Jim Bakker in a different light and gave me a clear understanding of some of the things that happened behind the scenes.

Televangelists and a whole lot of high profile religious leaders in America are wolves in sheeps clothing....tempted by the money....serving only the almighty dollar.

Just my $0.02 worth:

What you just said is my 'yardstick' to measure a Christian organization.

It is easy in a sales setting to see if the prospective client is a cheapskate/greedy; or if they are honest and worth dealing with.

I use those observation skills when I talk with a Christian ministry or a preacher also. If they come across as someone that worships the $$$, then as far as I am concerned they are a hypocrite and will not get my donations. But if they are truely humble and meek, thankful for all things, and seek the Lord in the financial area (well in all areas); then I will give them a second look and might support their ministry.

But as most of you know: What I just described are few and far between. Not too much worry about too many ministries to support... :(

It is truely a shame, because these money hungry misfits give the Christian faith a bad name.

Proverbs 3:5-6... A pastor should be showing us with his life as an example how to live out this passage. Shame they do not do so.

You're not allowed to speak in terms of Karma simply because you don't believe in that sort of thing.
You're supposed to be touting the fact that your beloved science proves that her death was simply caused by biological irregularities and has nothing to do with the Karmic wheel.

Your post does speak volumes about the type of petty fool you are though......

His ministry was genuine. Jerry was unpopular with the world because he preached from the word of God. He framed most of his comments from the wisdom in the Word of God. Yes, sometimes he trampled on the sensebilties of some folks. But the Bakers were in it for money only.

You know what the locals said PTL stood for?
Pass The Loot. I think you guys forgot about the $158 million the Bakers removed from the coffers of the ministry.

After the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing killing hundreds of servicemen, the majority being U.S. Marines. Reagan announced on Feb. 7 that the U.S. Marine contingent in Beirut would be withdrawn to ships offshore for safety. At the same time, Reagan authorized military commanders to launch air strikes and artillery bombardments against Syrian-controlled positions that fired on Beirut. On Feb. 8, American warships mounted a nine-hour artillery barrage against pro-Syrian militia positions, in what was described as the largest U.S. naval action since the Vietnam War.
