I have a trane xv 90 furnace and a trane XR13 2.5 ton ac unit that is about 2 yrs old. I had requested that the comfort r feature be enabled when the unit was installed. I did see that according to the installers guide, it does specify that dip switches 5 and 6 be on. I did verify that both dip switches are turned to the on position. My system does start out at a low blower speed for a minute during cooling, then goes to a higher speed until the thermostat is satisfied, then it ramps down for a minute or so before it shuts off. As far as I can tell by the airflow from my vents, the system is either ramping up at 50% or its on 100%. No matter how long or short the run times, it never seems to go from the 50% ramping up speed to the 80% then to the 100% speed, like the manual says it should when comfor R is enabled. I have read on this board that the terminals "y" and "o" should be jumped also. I assume these are the labeled terminals where the tstat wires attach to the main board. I verified that these terminals currently are not being jumped together.
I have looked in the installers guide, and do not see where it specifies that these terminals be jumped to enable comfort r mode. Could someone please tell me if they need to be jumped or not. And without these terminals being jumped, but dip sw 5 and 6 turned on, what should my system be doing?

I have the trane vision pro tstat without a humidistat. One zone only.

Thanks

There should be a jumper on it. Otherwise it's going to do the 50/100.

I assume that the jumper is just a piece of wire that will short y and o where they enter the board?

Yes.

The outdoor unit will have the most accurate instructions for the control wiring. The instructions with the indoor unit are very generic.

Thanks to both of you. I appreciate the info.
