I need to know if I should let this one go. Had a new Carrier Infinity system installed. Overall, everything looks good (I stuck close to them, I'm sure driving them crazy.)

However I wasn't watching when then removed the old condensor and platform, and installed a new, larger platform for the much bigger Carrier condensor.

The thing that is bugging me a little is that it isn't level. Using a level, it drops about 1.5" over 3 feet. I guess its not really a big deal, but why not get the darn thing level. The drain holes don't look like they will drain as well with it slanted that much.

Is this a "let it go" issue?

Not all manufacturers have a level spec. Here's what Carrier says. It sound like your unit is slightly out of spec:

NOTE: Unit must be level to within ±2 degrees (±3/8 in./ft.) per compressor manufacturer specifications

1.5" in 3 feet is a lot.

It is all about keeping the refrigerant oil level in the compressor.

You should request that the unit be brought level. Compressor oil is one issue, but components that spin on bearings like the fan motor and compressor can wear unevenly when run off axis for long periods. Think about the centrifugal force you feel while holding a spinning bicycle tire by the axle.

That's just tacky, and the sign of poor workmanship. I was taught that most customers initially have no idea if you sized and installed the system properly, all they see is the finished part: registers, thermostat, outdoor unit. All the HVAC contractors know this. So, if they do a "visually" poor installation of the part you can see, I have to wonder how good a job they did on the part you don't see.
Call the owner and let him know the problem. Be polite. If he cares about his customers, he will either send out his best tech or personally visit to make sure your new install is done correctly.
Yes, I'd make em level that unit.
