I was wondering if there are any Refrigeration and A/C Companies that are offering an entry level position as an mechanic, I recently gratuated from a trade school (Apex Technical School) located in New York, NY. I have an EPA License, G95 (Tourch) and F93 (Fire Guard) Certificate of Fitness, Driver's License and I'm a Certified Technican. If there is any company out there in the NY Tri State area that are hiring Helpers please let me know by contacting me through my email Redgear4566@aim.com

You say you can't find a job. What have you tried? Maybe once we know your technique we can offer some advice that might help with your search...
Have you made out resumes, cover letters, follow-up thank you letters, dressed in professional attire, shaking hands and introducing yourself in person, follow-up visits, have you gotten any interviews and if so have you read up on how to conduct a successful job interview? The biggest mistake I see new trainees making is that they think their training "entitles" them to a job, no, it grants you the "privelege" to seek those jobs. The seeking part is competitive.

Yes, I've called about 4 companies and they all told me just to fax them my resume, which i did. I also visted about 3 companies and a store where they sell HVAC parts. I introduced myself and shoke their hand. I have my resume posted up on monster and I just got one call from HVAC company after two weeks of searching (got the call today). I have an interview tommorow, which I'm sort nervous about. What you said in your last couple of sentences are so true. Thank you for responding to my thread, bro.

Try HVAC Agent or MEP at work to post your resume. Look at relocating to a warmer climate if possible.

From an employer's perspective, I would recommend getting on all the trade websites first. MEPatWork.com and HVACAgent.com seem to be the industry front runners. And they're free for you to post on; it's the employers like me that pay to view. You'll get limited response from Monster, as it is a "big board" across all industries.
