So what is your suggested remedy, tinknocker? Shall we succomb to hysteria and volunteer some more tax dollars for federal agencies to study?

Why don't the people who are most concerned about it stop driving cars and stop running air conditioners, and leave the rest of us alone?

Ya what do you care about the earth, you're only here for awhile. Screw everybody else right.

I'll do what I can do. But the fever, no pun intended, that is being whipped up is rather much ado about nothing, IMO. If it could not be shown that the earth warms and cools in cycles much larger than our little "recorded history" shows, then I might be game.
Lately, though I would say that it is worth looking into as to whether we can do something to help the earth, although that sounds awfully self-centered I would say. As if we could warm the earth, or cool it. Maybe you don't pay enough in taxes for a bunch of worthless federal agencies. I would say that you do, and I do as well. It's time that we determine our own future, and not have the "gov't" here to help us. They rarely solve anything.

So it all comes down to your taxes?

Absolutely. And if that means that I'm setting precedent for future generations to resist hysterical efforts to generate more gov't control over our lives, then so be it.

I guess its about what you wanna pay taxes for. You're gonna pay no matter what. I'd rather pay doing the world good than say an incompetent chimps lies.

Another angle Tinny, is our approach to energy in general. Can companies start up nuclear power plants without going through 20 years of formalities? Some regulation is needed, no doubt. But to find ourselves in our current energy crisis, AND to say that we need to stop warming the planet on a flanking argument is self-contradictory. Especially since the majority of the whining about energy price-gouging is from people on the left.

You could also consider letting the chimp stuff go, and work until '08 for change on the local level with regard to taxes. (Where I live this battle never ends.!) This man's presidency will soon pass, as all things do.

Lets leave the record breaking oil profits out of this because thats a major tax outta your pocket. Alternative sources is the way to go. But then the Puglys will have to find another reason for war.

They are entitled to profit from my consumption. The parts about their own tax incentives and price supports in other industries is where I dissent. Free market is not what is happening in this country, so I'm not defending it as it is currently configured. I think the gov't is vastly oversized, and reaches far too much into your life and mine. If I don't want to boost the oil cos. profits, then I can not drive. :Until then, they are getting my $$$. :p
The ongoing justifications for war in the ME are Constitutionally weak IMO, and they can't bring our boys home a moment too soon. Today would be a great start, but I digress.

While the patterns of weather change are recorded fact, the rhetoric about what contributes to warming patterns and ozone problems is anything but fact. See for yourself.
