Well for months I have been trying to work things out where I can come to the convention, but I don't think this year I am going to be able to make it.

Back in December, some folks I DJ with invited mt to go to a DJ convention in Atlantic City. So I signed up, and reserved my room and all.

Problem is, this (week long) DJ convention runs right into the weekend of the HVAC-Talk convention.

Apperantly, we are leaving Atlantic City Saturday afternoon, which haapens to be the convention saturday in winston-salem.

I have gone over many options to try to make it there, but at this point it does not look like I am going to be able to do it.

Right now, I am exploring the option of driving to atlantic city myself (we are all going in a van), flying out of Newark to make the convention that Friday, and returning to Newark. Have also looked at just having them drop me off at newark airport and flying back in to connecticut and having them pick me up, but if I go that route it will cost me over $1,000.

If anything positive comes up in the next couple days, I'll let you all know, but for now, I don't think I will make it.

I was really looking forward to visiting the carolinas, as I have always wanted to go there. I guess someone will have to carry out the tradition for me of doing something crazy like throwing stuff out of motel room windows or going up onto the roof of a bar!

Hope you all have fun, and I hope to go to the one next year. By that time, I may be living within driving distance of the 2008 convention, you just never know!

They are at every convention. I had a car load last year going back from the clam bake. Keeps everyone safe.

My daughter will help with the pic's. Well some of them :D

Jack threatens to hit the tittie bars every year. Jade just shakes her head and amuses him.

So far he is batting 0 :D

OK Pat, suck it up and figure this out so you can do both.

How about I pick you up in Atlantic City and you drive down with Lisa and I?

Okay, there is a glitch. Lisa and I are spending the week after the convention in Tennessee, and you are not invited to that party:cool:

So, after the convention, rent a U-Haul truck for $19.95 and drive it back to your place. Just tell the U-Haul people that you are moving something from WS to CT and need a one way ticket.

See; problem solved.

We can drive him back. CT is inbetween NC and VT.

I rented one of them long time ago, when I had a pick-up truck and needed to deliver a bunch of ductwork and such to a job.
That $19.95 doesn't include any miles, so with the other bs they toss in it costs me $75 just to drive it across town and return it the same day.

Don't count on it yet, jeff. If I were to do this, I'd have to make sure everything else jived first. If I have a DJ gig that weekend I'm screwed, but if not, I'm sure it could be done. Time off work is not an issue. Still got vac. time.
