Time will not be on your side, if you are going to keep the rack going this is a job to start at 2AM. GFI plug, sturdy wetvac, electric power washer are very handy to have. A helper too, depending on the size and condition of the tower, which I'm guessing is bad since this is being done in June. New door and strainer gaskets, may be needed. If it's safe put the high speed fan to hand, lock out low speed fan, pump, drain sump, pull strainers and clean, while draining. Power wash and vac out tower. Reinstall strainers, fill tower, start tower pump, put everything in auto and check ops. This is to check for controls that may have given up during the cleaning. Turn off low and high speed fans, and lock out. service your fan drives. Return tower to normal operation and check all controls throughly.

kill the power to your sump heaters, in case of a sticking float switch. don't forget to pull the covers on the top deck and clean the orifices.

Thow a couple of big jugs of Javex in the sump before you drain it and let it circulate for a while to kill any bugs or other nasties in the tower before you climb in.If its really bad call a local drain cleaning/sewage company to come and suck it out with the big truck vaccum. You can catch some pretty scary stuff from dirty towers !!!!!

bleach is good to clean and kill alge. You may want to check belts amp motors etc.Add some grease. If you have a high pressure pump to claen that would help also.
