First post

Installing a kitchen blower (no heat or cooling, just an air mover).

High efficiency residential furnaces use DC motors.

Tech is telling me to use an AC motor with

AF-300 Mini Micro Drive
(http://www.geindustrial.com/cwc/Dispatcher?REQUEST=PRODUCTS&pnlid=7&famid=-1&catid=111&id=af300mini)because no brushes to wear out like DC motor.

Pro's and con's?

You have been informed wrong. The "DC" motor or ECM motor is a brushless motor. Not sure about your motor though.

Blower is for a commercial kitchen
Their is air conditioning but not enough.

Enclosed squirrel cage motor would be mounted to ceiling to circulate air.

For speed control which motor is recommended, AC or DC?
