so in the commercial for Moore's new anti-America film, the announcer says "bribes and corruption" , then it flips over to Bush and he says "uniquely American"
so Moore wants you to believe that "bribes and corruption" are "uniquely American"?
i have a lot of complaints about this country but Moore has no value as political critic. (or a human)
tickets might be a rip-off but all you have to do is go south of the border to Mexico and see what life is like where bribery to the police is a daily job.
or central America where political parties kill each other.
(ironically some Marxist parties that Moore has shown support for)
or africa where people get their arms chopped off.
or countries like Columbia, Russia or Japan where the mafia is as powerfull as the legitimate government.
or many other countries in the world where AIDS is a massive problem because the nations are making prostitutes out of girls when they reach 11.
Moore attacks our government but the big problem in this country is people like Moore who paint a fictional reality.
i can't believe that anyone would ever support this fat a$$, especially when his lies couldn't be more obvious.

This country must be horrible. They're running across the desert, risking life and limb to take minimum wage jobs. The reason for that is that minimum wage here is like 10X what they could dream of making back in the motherland.
But as for Mr. Moore, he is just another fatcat profiting from general discontent.

Disregard everything the message he (Moore) brings. Just give everyone the same health care coverage that the people who work for us (Congress)receives.
I don't think the message is anti-American. It does illustrate the obscene profit
and bonuses among other things, for the insurance companies.

Wow... you guys are freakin' nuts. I was under the impression that this new film was about inequalities and inefficiencies in our health care system. I don't think it's really a political debate. Even though Moore may make it seem like it is. Everyone deserves health care, some more than others, but this system we're in is out of hand. My basic health care costs almost $800 a month! So I've paid into the plan for the last 4 years... 4x12x800= $38,400!!!! I went to the doctors once for a check-up. Really, I only went because I feel like I'm getting ripped off.... At least someone is trying to vocalize their feelings on the issue. (and for you conservative dudes, at least he isn't just bashing Bush for once... those movies are kinda boring)

Michael Moore is not unlike many people in this country who see big insurance companies and their lobbyists sabotaging a universal health care plan that would at least minimize the wastage and standardize health care for our citizens.
He is wrong when he attributes the problems to a current admin though.
That's where he loses his credibility.

No doubt about it that something has to be done about the insurance industry as well as the medical liability issues in the U.S. Not that the medical industry need not be liable for gross misconduct, but there is way too much money being granted for medical mistakes and way too many frivolous law suits.

Maybe we have different definitions of a red herring argument. It is one that distracts from the original argument without having any merit with the original argument. It comes from fox hunt operators dragging a red herring to get the hounds off the scent of the fox.

I have watched as much as I can stomach. I really don't like feeding my head with wrong data.
I watch a lot of liberal minded movies with agendas that I can accept are the opinions of others. Moore tries to make people believe that his documentary styled movies are absolute fact, just like Al Gore did with his atrocity. This is akin to "Reefer Madness" being a documentary about marijauna.

Moore can do whatever he wants to do. This is America after all. This is the land of the free that Moore is constantly putting down because it is here he has the right to do so.
Just as Moore has the freedom to put down the U.S., I have the freedom to state how I feel about him and his viewpoints. I also have the right to criticize his lying and manipulating.
Do you have a problem with my airing my point of view? Maybe Moore can do his movie on how freedom of speech is wrong because it protects all points of view and not just his. They already love him in Cuba. Maybe he can move there so that the viewpoint of others around him can be properley dealt with.

The "land of the free" is nothing more than a concept.
Next time you start feeling absolutely free, avoid paying your taxes and see just how free you are.
I'd also be interested to hear why you think criticism of the state of health care in this country is "putting down" our country.
Just as Moore has the freedom to put down the U.S., I have the freedom to state how I feel about him and his viewpoints. I also have the right to criticize his lying and manipulating.
Yes, you do. But you lose your credibility when you charachterize his criticisms as lying and manipulation without providing substantive fact about what is "truth" and what is "lie".

"These rules are relaxed in the "America, Religion, Politics" section but are strictly enforced in all other sections"..................
Since there is no longer an "America, Religion, Politics" forum, that part of the general rules should be edited to show it's new name as ARP.

I'd be real careful with who you are dealing with here chilly.
ARP(A)
Now, about that mod position that chilly suggested.....

Boyd, cut out all the gay flower shop gorilla fonts. Maybe your post won't take up 1/2 a page.

Stick your warnings up your rump, Boyd.
I've already stated that I will not knuckle under to idle threats and schoolboy intimidation.
You don't like the posts...tuff.
Apparently, I have a better understanding of the rules on this forum than you do.

You have a hard enough time debating your posts in this forum and selecting members with proper credentials to be thinking about being a moderator.
You'd be better served sticking with your Muslim hate diatribe and your faux theological rants.

Oh yeah, I'm shaking in my boots.
What is it with you and this "Don't you know who I am?" crap.
Run along teletubby. You're an amateur.

Yo, duffus; I wasn't talking about me. What a goof:confused:

You were the one who nominated me.
If you pay a little more attention, you may actually understand what people post and not come back with ridiculous comments on something you misunderstood.

Like I stated before; if you actually read the posts out loud, you may understand them better. You are reacting to something that didn't happen.
And if I were a TeleTubby, I wouldn't be an amateur one:cool:

This is stupid and Boyd's posts look like a graffiti painted box car of useless ramblings.

LOL
If I had to read Boyd's posts out loud, I and everyone around me would either laugh themselves silly or there would be a total barf-fest.
He's much more proficient when he's in the resi section tooting his own horn to all the DIY's.

You wouldn't make a pimple on my butt in a smack down. You don't even know what you are reading half the time.
If that was too fast for your comprehension, tough.

Every hour of every day is church for me. Since I am a regestered reverend, I don't anyone but God and myself;)

...I am a regestered reverend...
That puts you in a league with Al and Jesse. I don't think I'd mention that. At least not on forums that have sane posters.
