What should I do....?

Today I am replacing my old unit with new Carrier Infinity series complete unit (compressor/air handler etc). This is 4T 15.5 SEER two stage cooling system. This job will be done by Carrier authorized dealer.

I understand that the installation is the main part in this whole exercise. Is there something that I can do to make sure everything is done properly?. Is there any check list available so that I can make sure those items are covered properly?.

Also, does new airconditioning units have any break-in period (like new cars have first 1000 miles break-in or Plasma TVs with 200 hr etc)?.

ANy help/input is appreciated.

I suggest your component installation instruction manuals are your checklist. Educate yourself on what is required and ensure that's the way it's done.

To answer your other question, there is no "break-in" requirement for your HVAC system. Once it's installed, turn it on and let it cruise...
