I guess you mean leak checking. I would not use dye to leak check, use a good electronic leak detector and Big Blu bubbles to pinpoint the leaks.

Ick don't mess up the inside of a chiller with dye. Save that for the little refrigeration systems. Electronic leak dectors or even a halide. Once you find it hit it with bubbles. No bubble, no trouble.

Like everyone stated, use a good leak detector & bubbles.

Also, start at the top & work your way down, refrigerant is heavier than air & its easy to be fooled if you start at the bottom.

One more thing, take your time.:D

i use dtek electronic detector, i also used the h-10 in the past. I have always found the leaks, Take your time , the detector will find the leak, dont leave out tube rolls and tube leaks

Dye WILL NOT repair leaks !!!!!!!! It will just leak out with your refrigerantant and oil, and generally make a mess of your chiller.

Not sure what you are asking. Are you asking if you can fix the leak with dye?
You might want to call in a professional.

This is a chiller not a tire. There is no can of fix-a-flat made for large air-conditioning.

A friend of mine in Phoenix has a bunch of apts. and one of his tenents put a can of tire fix a flat in his 2 ton rooftop. Not knowing what happen my friend put his gauges on it and made a mess of his gauges. He called me and asked what to do. I told him to throw his gauges away and buy a new unit. That is what he did.:D
