Hi,

This is a continuation of thread (http://www.hvac-talk.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=140859&highlight=snake) questioning the installation of flexduct.

Is there anyway a homeowner can review the UL standards for proper installation of flexduct? I looked up the UL standards and it costs $800 to download the materials (UL 181 - only one reference). Are there any links on websites that summarize the standards? I really did not want to go down this road but I have no choice as the pictures show in my last thread.

Also, I am willing to hire another contractor to test each register for air flow. Even if I end up paying extra, I want these problems solved before I put up drywall in the basement. Any recommendations?

I will have a meeting with my HVAC contractor soon and I want to show the installation problems and discuss potential resolutions. Thanks.

The instructions should be in a box of flex.

I did not read the other posts, and only glanced at the photos, are the flex insulated?

Yes - sort of - see the pictures for details. Pictures show details of poor installation techniques
