During the winter apparently the small 3/8 pipe coming off the Reversing Valve cracked. Now it is summer. Guy calls me. I see the pipe, braze the line back together, do all the other stuff, system is working fine.
However, his question is what happened. My guess is that during the winter the pipe froze and due to expansion it cracked the pipe. Now the question is why?
My guess is that the defrost cycle did not kick in, but how do I prove that in the summer, or is that not likely the cause of the problem.
Any ideas?
