View Full Version : Replacing home HVAC 12years old w/ trouble
I am getting quotes for a new system 80,00btu furnace and 3ton ac for a ranch style home 1750 sq feet with unfinished basement that will be finished one day. There is too much to sort through what are the best units? What do yo think about frigidaire? mlooking mostly at Trane and Bryant but should I consider carrier too?: I live close to St Louis MO

How do you know 80K btu and 36K btu are the proper sizes?

Frigidaire is one of the Nordyne brands, similar to Westinghouse and Tappan. They are very good equipment with one of the best warranties in the business.
The other brands are also quality equipment.
You'd be fine with any of them as long as you hire a qualified contractor to install them correctly. A bad contractor will make you unhappy with whatever brand you choose.

Yea, somebody better size the sucker right. 3 ton for that house in St. Louie seems a tad high unless there is 0 insulation and/or all glass!
