Used 9 months, bottom scratched (may become top depending on installation), sides that join with ductwork have some sealant remaining, plug replaced with standard electrical connectors that go on furnace circuit board connections for EAC. Media life is about 1/2 gone (guessing). One of the silly combs broke in half, but is still usable. Removed because I am sensitive to the small quantities of ozone it makes.
I'd love to trade up to an IQAir perfect 16 (paying the difference) but will accept payment and consider offers :D

These sell for hundreds of dollars new. If you don't want it, go away. Isn't this forum called "Junk Yard"? What did you expect?

This is the newer revision of the AprilAire 5000. It doesn't have the flaw that led to the recall.

I have one of those 5000's - brand new in a box on a shelf in the warehouse. I had just bought it before the self imolation became known. Instead of taking it back, the distributor sent me the 'fix it' kit they sent everyone who already had the 5000 installed. Can't seem to get rid of the piece of crap. I proposed it on a bid, the people researched on the net, read about the recall and said no way.

Won't bid anymore April-aire stuff that's for sure.

Ah, forget it then. It's not worth the hassle. Perhaps I could use it to hold the Lennox MERV 16 media they make for the Aprilaire 2400, without applying the power. I wonder if the sizes match.
