Texas hot dog sauce. I eat this stuff on everything from crackers, hotdogs, hamburgers, brats, corn chips and tacos

1 lb of lean hamburger
cover with water and cook till brown, do not drain water. chop up the meat till fine while cooking.

combine the following and simmer for one hour

1 tsp garlic powder
3 tbls paprika
2 tbls chilli powder
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp red ground pepper
2 beef bouillon cubes
salt to taste

Try adding 1/2 Tsp each of cinnamon, nutmeg and ground cloves to your recipe. Served all over Western NY this way- A quality dog on a soft bun, covered with the sauce, a thin strip of yellow mustard and finally a tbs. of finely minced sweet onion. Heaven!

When I saw the title, I thought that this might have been some sick joke.

baub, Do you live anywhere near Malone, NY? Used to eat Malone Hotdogs, with that on them, even with my teenage cast iron stomach had to chase them with Tums. Today they'ed probably put me six feet under.

Baub,I used to live in Amherst just outside of Buffalo.
Is that Texas sauce?

Madhat- As you know, Malone is up in Northern NY, almost in Canada. I'm in the west, on the Pennsylvania border. Sounds like the sauce is similar. They can be gut trouble... our local place also has homemade deep-fried onion rings. Order 2 hots with an order of rings, and I guarantee, you will be sleeping alone!

Don- Louie's has the traditional texas hot, along with many other stands in Buffalo/Amherst. Do remember Ted's Hot Dogs? They are not a texas hot, but charcoal grilled. Any fixin' you want to add is there! http://www.tedsonline.com/ For the Arizona members, they have a branch in Tempe, AZ.

Now you got my mouth watering.
I can almost smell a Ted's footlong grilling over a hot bed of charcoal.

It's hard to find a good natural casing wiener down here but I order several times a year for all my hometown goodies from this place.
