Authorities said the 29-year pitcher had a blood content of nearly twice the legal limit for alcohol in his system when he crashed into the back of the tow truck. He was also speeding, using a cell phone and wasn't wearing a seat belt, Police Chief Joe Mokwa said after the accident. Marijuana also was found in the SUV.

Other defendants include Eddie's Towing, the company whose flatbed tow truck was struck by Hancock's sport utility vehicle in the early hours of April 29; tow truck driver Jacob Edward Hargrove; and Justin Tolar, the driver whose stalled car on Interstate 64 was being assisted by Hargrove.

Saw this bullcrap in the local news yesterday. Geez, the man is dead, he broke several laws in getting that way but lets try to blame someone else. He had a bit of a drinking problem? Well, let's blame the people that "let" him have that problem. He hit a tow truck while drunk, talking on a cell phone, without a seatbelt and speeding? Well, tow truck shouldn't have been there--blame the guy that had the first wreck!
Total b.s. crap!! Figured something like this would come up though. No one is responsible for their own actions anymore. Surely someone else is to blame so lets blame them all and let the courts figure it out.
BAH!

Also, the bartender offered to call him a cab. He declined, and said he was walking to a hotel 3 blocks away to meet some friends.

Goes to show you how easy it is to prosecute a lie when you have some wealth and influence.
There's one person responsible for his death and we all know who it is.
