Old system seems to have a leak (compressor and fans stop after a short run period)

My "old" system seems to have "expired". It will run for an hour or two (not real cold), and then the fan and compressor stop.

I'm not sure of the age or size of this unit. Any help?

I have not seen any "iced" lines, but the system is not blowing cold. The A coil is corroded and is probably the source of the leak. I hope I can "limp" through the summer (Georgia), but I doubt it.

Best to call a tech and not run the unit more until it's repaired. Might only be a minor repair, might be cheaper to replace it. Can't easily tell you without seeing the unit in person.

Looks like 1989 vintage Amana round. Getting up there but only a tech can tell you if worth putting any more money into.
