I have a 2 year old Goodman split system with 2.5 ton A/C. When we were installing it, my father in law didn't do a good job on brazing one of the connections and I had a very tiny leak as a result. Over time, I lost most of the R-22 and some oil. I fixed the leak this past weekend and now it's time to recharge the system.
Since I lost some oil, I don't know how much is left. I know that the best solution would probably be to get the remaining oil out and to start from scratch, but how do I go about doing that? Would evacuating the system pull the oil out? Is removing the rest of the oil even necessary? Topping it off would be a guess as to how much needs to go back in.
Thanks for any pointers!
