How does the check valve between the stator section and crankcase open?I mean how does the pressure equilize?I was at copeland 3 day seminar this year,I thouhgt I learned it but I forgot.:o

its been a while,i think i remember..
it only opens to allow oil from the stator to flow into the crancase.it wont check until oil starts its way back towards the stator,if crancase pressure get to great,..it should never equalize during running conditions..what are you referring to equalizing??

maybe there is no equilization.is it that the suction pressure in off cycle goes up to let the little ball in the valve go towards the crankcase,so the oil will drain into the crankcase?

well i recently did the three day cless in allentown pa and i asked the instructor if these things ever fail or stick and he said it was not likely, i guess because pressure in your crancase is likely higher then your suction it would force oil out of the crancase to the stator instead of towards the crancshaft,so the check denies it and keeps it in the crancase???

Thank you for bringing up that link.I totaly forgot about it.It also reminded me how far I came in 3 years, with the training I have been getting from this forum. That employer of mine is out of business today.I have been servicing that supermarket for a while now.
