portable air conditioners

i need to purchase a portable air conditioner. a 12,000 BTU unit
should be just the right size (just a bit larger than i actually
need).

i'd like the unit:
- to be well built
- have replaceable parts that i can order
- to be energy efficient

does anyone know if there are any cons to self-evaporating units?

what dual-duct unit would you recommend?

any opinions on what i should purchase? any other models in

I don't know any of the brands, probably all made in China by the same people :eek:

But dual duct is very important. Otherwise you have the condenser fan sucking large quantities of nice cool air out of your space causing hot air to infiltrate from somewhere.
