Hi to all I have been working with R-22 for several years on pkg units on the roof, but today my boss ask me to charge up a High Pressure Refrigerated Air Dyer thats cooling off 600psi oil free air for blowing plastic bottles for the the beverage industri. Yes i know your going to say what the heck is he talking about. Its A 1 off machine made here in the USA that runs on R-404A I believe its a blend so I could only charge this as a liquid not a gas right. The suction pressure runs around (80) psi.... they use a hot gas by pass system to maintain the pressure.
PS We don't have just 1 of these things we have 2. Thanks for any advice you could give me.

404 is a blend so yes you should charge as a liquid to prevent fractionation.

Does this system have an air-cooled or water-cooled condenser and does it have a TEV, sightglass and receiver?

Does it have a liquid line service valve (King Valve) that will allow you to pump the system down and liquid charge into the liquid line?

Does it have a factory charge stated on the dataplate?

You’re getting into a different job classification.

Down load the manual for that system and read it front to back. Make sure you have at least a basic understanding of how it works that way & why.
