I have an existing Trane DY120R9V5V 120kBTU 2-stage furnace (2100cfm max blower)
I have a proposal to install a Trane XL16i 4TTX6048 4 ton 2-stage split system compressor.
The contractor proposes Trane coil 4TXC060A3HCA.
Is this coil correct? That is, does it “match” the compressor to achieve the 16SEER, and will it pass the 2100cfm in heating mode with low back pressure?
Thanks,
Bill

Doesn't sound right to me. Your furnace is 24" wide, the coil is 21" wide. The proper ARI matched coil is the 4TXCD061 instead. There is no rating for the smaller coil.

Baldy-
thanks for the legwork.
For what it's worth, the contractor says he called Trane
tech support and rechecked the numbers. This guy
tells me the 060 coil is the one recommended by Trane.
At the end of the, I have to trust the contractor, or else
I should be dealing with someone else.
Go figure.
Anyway, i appreciate your efforts.
Take care,
Bill

Ask him for the ARI reference number for the coil and A/C he's proposing. I find no rating for it. This is critical for rebates and tax credits. If they don't apply, not as big of a deal.

The contractor relies on Tech Support. However, the person in Tech Support that one deals with is not 100% correct.
I would not use a match that does not have an ARI rating without knowing the significant performance and installation, if any, differences.
