Figured I'd open a can of worms and offer to address reasonable questions about the sticky posts for the 2007 HVAC-Talk Convention. Anything that wasn't clear or not covered.

No smoking will be an issue.Guess I'll just go outside. What is the deal with bathing suits ? You want me to scare off any kids that might be around ?

Ed- I hope not for my sake :D
Yes tobacco use to be king here but things have changed. They almost passed a bill yesterday (in NC) that would not allow smoking in any building or business.
Westwood Club has a pool and we will be the only folks there after 8pm on friday night.

What about the Titty Bars, is smoking allowed there?
Forget it, skip the smoking and get to the TB's.

I noticed on the agenda that nothing starts on Friday till 8:00 pm. I am asuming that is to allow people time to get there. Am I correct?

I also noticed that nothing starts till 5:00 pm on Saturday. Is there anything planned for earlier in the day or is that just for us to do what we want on our own?

So is this just a big fun thing? Or, are there some educational value offered.

Oh, my room rate is $89.00

Good time meeting people who post on this site. Exchanging ideas and information about the business we are in. Good food and a chance to look around another part of the country for most who come. You could take in some of the nature trails at the park for the 10lbs. while your here too. Ever been to Old Salem the Moravian settelment or secca the art exhibit or the Reynolda house. Lots to see while your here.
My daughter goes to Peace in Raleigh is having fun finding her way around there. Went to the Natural Science exhibit (think that was what it was called) when I was there earlier this year. Butterfly room was pretty neat.

About the only thing educational you will learn is the good food, good friends, and a good time.

I would encourage everyone to come. It is a relaxed environment and a chance to meet people on here and may make some friends for life. A time to let your hair down as I would say it.

Friday before the mixer is a great time to wind down after a long ride or flight and start meeting people as they come in. On Saturday you have plenty of time to go shopping and take a look around town. I know last year a lot of people paired up and picked different places to eat at or go shopping together.

Last years Friday night mixer was a great ice breaker. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life.

If you do come you won't regret it.

And jpb2 is really looking forward to passing the torch. :D

there is a lot of education to be gained if you want it, everyone there will be talking shop at some point, but the true value in it is the fun

although you may not remember the fun untill you see the pics of what we was all doing while we were drunk :D
