Hello All:

My Dad needed to replace their HVAC system. I told him to upgrade from a single speed to a variable speed. He told the HVAC company that he wanted to upgrade to a Variable Speed unit. They gave him a price for a variable speed air handler but instead they installed a 2TEH. When I looked at the Trane website, it states the 2TEH is a multi speed.

What does a multi speed do?

What does 6-Way Convertible mean?

The fan basically turns on and off. Can anyone give me more information about this unit. Did we get the bait and switch on this unit?

The Trane site doesn't give too much information online.

Please....any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

Uh, the website is pretty clear. Read the 1st paragraph of each air handler.
TEH has 4 fan speeds

TEE has 12 fan speeds

You shore didn't get variable speed!

The TEH uses the X13 motor. It's efficient like a variable speed but performance is just like a fixed 3 or 4 speed motor. The 6 way means multi position, it can blow up, down, left, right and have access from front or back.
