I am building a custom home.
1] Included as standard is a Carrier Performance 5 ton AC ["tag at my house will read SEER13"]. I was offered an upgrade to the Infinity 21 ["tag would read SEER 17 for my house" he said] forXXXX- fair deal or ripoff?

2] Separate trunk for masterbedroom with damper = $X,XXXX upgrade.

3] Honeywell Pro 5000 thermostats included, Pro 8000 upgrade at additional XXXX each. If I took the Pro5000 could I replace it later with a Pro 8000 and do it myself?

Have sympathy- I'm a layman retail customer
