Hi,

New to this site ,but was hoping for some direction. My son purchased a new unpackaged Lennox heat pump model XP19-036-230 from a dealer going out of business in Seattle. He was selling off his inventory and going to work for someone else.To make a long story shorter, he found a experienced installer(not a Lennox dealer) to do the install, but would have to install a new American Standard Freedom 90 Comfort-R Variable gas furnace. Well after finishing the install of funace & heat pump, the heat pump isn't working yet. After checking that everything has power etc., he said he would consult a friend who installs Lennox to see if there is something he is overlooking as pertains to Lennox!
Any advice besides,"call Lennox". We will if he can't do the job, but is there something I can do to point him in the right direction concerning this model heat pump.
Sincerely,Don

Hate to sound harsh, but you are basically DIY, which is only asking for problems. The best advice I can give you is to pay for the expertise required, but that may not be an option now as it is doubtful a professional company will touch such a situation.

Unfortunately, this is not a site that promotes DIY or "sidework".

Good luck

Aside from the whole no DIY stuff and based on the information given.

If he "checked everything for power" then he should have found out why it is "not working yet".

When all else fails read the instructions.

You're starting off with a Frankensystem, so you're equipment doesn't match right from the get-go. I have no crystal ball so there's no telling what's wrong with it besides a mis-match. I don't think Lennox will help you either besides telling you to match it with the proper furnace.

Thankyou for your replies. He is not DIY. He hired a 15yr old hvac company to install it. They have a proven track record, just not with Lennox brand. He recommended my son replace his 1yr old furnace to this one( American Standard Freedom 90 Variable) for compatability with the Lennox XP19. Was he giving incorrect advice?Believe me he has paid for this expertise .Around $5500 not including the cost of the heat pump. There just must be something being overlooked as pertains with the Lennox XP19.Again thankyou for your time and knowledgable replies.

You do need a variable speed blower to function with the heat pump. He would need to wire the XV90 as if he is installing a XL16i system. That's Trane's comparable unit to the Lennox. The XL19i has a different split between high & low.
