Working on a one year old York 90% G9T-UP that won't fire up. Getting the old 3 blinks on the circuit board so checked pressure switch and it seems fine. Drained / checked all drain lines - totally clear of water. Checked venting pipe and there appears to be no blockages. Managed to get her going twice but now the inducer just does a rapid start/stop (starts for about 1/2 second) and then shuts down immediately and goes back to 3 blinks.

Before I replace the board, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Tommy

I would call the installing contractor tomorrow and have them fix it. If it's only a year old it may still be under warrenty. Also site rules prohibit diy info.

Installing contractor is out of business.. Another tech came out in the fall when this first happened and had no idea what was up. Furnace ended up starting and he didn't replace anything. Now back in the same boat.

check your electrical connections, I recently had a competitors furnace installed by one of the hacks here in so cal. they put the molex connector in front of the gas nipple so that when the top panel was inplace there was just enough tension to break the circuit & make the inducer run intermittently, also found there was a revision on the pressure switches as well (was an 80% 2 stage) most boards out there are pretty reliable

I would recommend calling a York company, tell them your problem. It wouldn't suprise me if you wound up replacing the controll module.
You didn't say, but have you had any lightning storms lately?

No lightening storms.. Can't get a hold of York today so I guess I will try tomorrow. Last time I tried, they said it was under warranty but none of the techs I talked to wanted to service it under warranty. They all wanted me to pay for the parts out of pocket as they could not be bothered to chase/wait for York to reimburse them.. Shady

Anyway, I have the oven door open now and the blower running to keep warm. The inducer is still trying to start for a split second and then the whole thing shuts down.

do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THE OVEN FOR HEAT ESPECIALLY IF IT IS A GAS MODEL !!!!!! YOu can get carbon monoxide poisoning and if the consentration is high enough permanent brain damage or even death get your self a portable electric heater,

Hey there - it is an electric oven. Just have the broiler on and furnace fan moving the air around. Can one get carbon monoxide poisoning from electric oven elements?

Sounds like the same problem I have seen 0n this model before.

I have seen just way too many people use the gas oven for heating when the furnace goes out, every yar we all hear about it in the news, about the only thing you will damage using an electric broiler oven is your wallet...

No, electric elements don't give off CO, but electric ovens are not designed to run 100% with the door open, either. The whole appliance can get very hot, and they don't have limit switches like furnaces. I think it would be a potential danger to have an electric oven spinning your meter for hours on end, and probably a little stinky, as well..

You mention the contractors could not be bothered to chase or wait for York to reimburse them. Why should they they didn't sell it I would require you to pay for it and when I get reimbursed I would reimburse you. Does that sound fair? But you probably do not live in my area.
