Wow that is pretty bad, i hope there taking about a helper rate and not a installer/tech ( which i would think they are by the 3 years experience ) roughly 5.75 to 9.10 a hour... that's outrageous.

I worked for them as a plumber. I was 3rd year with mainly service exp. They paid me 17.00 hr but it's all temp work. When things slow down you're done.
pay depend on who you're working for. They must be looking for the union :D

That's pitiful. Doubt anyone would apply for that unless fresh out of school (although lacking the req. experience) and then would jump at first chance.

Same here in San Antonio. An experienced man or woman who can properly install duct, not just slap hardcast on everything should be making $15.00, unless you just like looking for new help all the time (and training them)

Yeah really. It explains why they are advertising. I would'nt doubt they have to advertise all the time. It's not only an insult to tradesman it's reflects badly on company image I feel.

I hope this fits with this thread.....but it' an insult.
#1 3 guys change a boiler drain on a water heater for a customer I have known for about 16 years. 9:00 pm get overtime call for bad gas leak. Pilot ferule nut was finger tight, customer watched me tighten it and stop leak. Did not collect overtime call, we were the last ones to work on thing. Boss said it did'nt matter I was to charge my time and threatend to make me pay for the truck gas just to get there.
#2 Next day I am given a homemade relay box to install for baseboard heat;we do it a lot........depending on the house....this was not going to happen here, I was only the messenger at this time. The original guy who ran the first call could not be reached. Again my time sorting out what the plan here was NOT to be charged to th co. I should have walked right off job.BTW I have known the owners 22 yrs. Go figure.

I worked 10 hours Saturday at $54.00 an hour.

The only Institutuional classed work I can think of would be any work performed for in a facility where medical or educational service is performed. Sounds like contracted in-house positions to me.
